00·Reflection
There are journeys remembered through places, and there are journeys remembered through feelings. Ladakh became both for me.
I travelled with a camera, a motorcycle and no intention of rushing. This collection is not simply a record of Ladakh. It is the story of how the journey felt.
01·The Road
Carrying Everything the Road Required
The motorcycle carried my luggage, riding gear, camera equipment and the small temporary life I needed for the road. I stopped beside this stream because the sound of water felt different after miles of dry mountains. For a few minutes, the landscape softened and the journey slowed down.
02·Border Road
The Road to India’s Last Village
The sign above the bridge announced the approach to a remote border village. Behind me was the road already travelled. Ahead was a narrow crossing leading deeper between the mountains.
Distance here was not measured only in kilometres. It could be felt through silence, isolation and the gradual disappearance of everything familiar.
“The destination gave me the photographs. The motorcycle gave me the journey between them.”
03·Companionship
The Dog Who Stayed
I had stopped beside the river to film the water moving through the rocks. There was no one around when I arrived.
Then, from somewhere I never noticed, a dog appeared. It came over, sat beside me and looked toward the river as though we had arrived there together.
I expected it to leave after a few minutes. Instead, it stayed beside me for more than an hour while I filmed, rested and watched the mountains.
I never discovered where it came from or where it went afterward. Among all the enormous landscapes I photographed in Ladakh, this became one of my most personal memories.
“Somewhere beside a river in Ladakh, a stranger arrived without a word and stayed long enough to become part of the journey.”
04·Signs of Life
Small Homes Beneath Giant Mountains
After days filled with engines, difficult roads and strong mountain winds, moments like this brought a different rhythm to the journey—colour and quiet lives set against an enormous pale valley.
Two small homes resting beneath a mountain illuminated by the final golden light.
05·Night
When the Moon Followed the Road
One evening, the moon appeared above the mountain just as the final daylight disappeared. The motorcycle carried the dust and exhaustion of the day. The photograph is imperfect, but it remains one of the most honest frames from the journey—remote, tired, uncertain and completely alive.
06·Pangong
Where the Mountains Meet the Blue
Nothing prepared me for the first sight of Pangong. The water shifted from turquoise near the shore to deep blue toward the mountains. Every direction offered another frame, yet no photograph could completely hold the scale of the place.

A Moment Beside Pangong
Life Beside the Lake
Movement and daily life continuing quietly beside the still waters of Pangong.
07·Weather
Mountains That Create Their Own Weather
In Ladakh, the sky is never simply a background. Clouds gather around entire ridgelines, hiding one mountain while revealing another. The landscape seems to change even while you are standing still.
08·Departure
Leaving the High Country
Leaving Ladakh felt less like completing a trip and more like waking from a vivid dream. The difficult roads, freezing mornings and long valleys became memory—patterns waiting for the next chapter.
09·Delhi
From Ladakh’s Silence to Delhi’s History
After the openness of Ladakh, Delhi felt like returning to movement. The air was warmer, the roads busier and the silence of the mountains was replaced by the rhythm of the city.
Standing before the Red Fort, the Indian flag connected this final frame with the flag beside Pangong. Ladakh had shown me the vastness of India’s landscapes. Delhi reminded me of the depth of its history.
What the Journey Left Behind
I returned with photographs of motorcycles, mountains, lakes, border roads and historic monuments. Yet the strongest memories were often the ones I had never planned.
A stream that made me stop. A bridge leading toward one of the country’s last villages. A quiet hour beside Pangong. A dog that appeared from nowhere and stayed beside me while I filmed the river.
The mountains gave the photographs their scale. The road gave them their story.
“I travelled to Ladakh looking for landscapes. I returned remembering the silence, the road and the person I became along the way.”
